While the Tahoe Vista parks are certainly a favorite, don’t forget that there are plenty of indoor activities for you and your family to enjoy as well.
The North Tahoe Regional Park is located in the community of Tahoe Vista, and encompasses 124 acres of recreation possibilities. In addition to many hiking and water sport activities, there are lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, a golf course, and a disc golf course. You can cheer for your little slugger from the bleachers at one of the three ball fields before joining him or her on the seesaw at the playground.
After a day of fun in the sun, pack up the kids and visit Tahoe Tessie’s Monster Museum. As with Loch Ness in Scotland, Lake Tahoe has its very own Unidentified Swimming Object. At the little museum, you can see a life-size Tessie, read accounts from people who have seen her, and buy t-shirts and other souvenirs of your trip.
